Penningtons Manches Cooper enhances employment team

Penningtons Manches Cooper has appointed Graham Green as partner, bolstering its employment practice significantly
Penningtons Manches Cooper has expanded its employment division with the appointment of renowned lawyer Graham Green as a partner. Joining from Eversheds, Graham's expertise will enhance the firm's already impressive 50 fee-earner practice, particularly in advising on intricate and high-profile employment matters that cut across a variety of sectors. He is especially recognised as a 'go to' name for major clients in TV and film broadcast media and global technology, having represented prestigious companies like the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Netflix and global corporate giants including Nokia and Alibaba.
Graham brings a wealth of experience with high-profile cases in the High Court, Employment Tribunal, and Employment Appeal Tribunal, addressing issues such as discrimination, whistleblowing, and unfair dismissal claims. His background includes advising on complex contractual disputes and high-value contentious matters like restraint of trade and compensation issues. Notably, he has extensive knowledge regarding the Equality Act 2010, especially in the context of talent selection within the broadcasting and production sectors.
He has previously led significant cases in the UK media sector including advising the BBC on equal pay grievances and successfully representing Channel 4 in a landmark age discrimination case. Graham will primarily work from the firm's Cambridge office while also spending time at their London office.
Paul Mander, head of employment at Penningtons Manches Cooper, expressed enthusiasm about Graham’s appointment stating that “Graham is a fantastic addition to the team. He is very well known in the market for his work with major media and technology organisations, where he is a first choice adviser on many matters." Hilary Aldred, employment partner in Cambridge, remarked that “His reputation, sector insight and depth of experience will further strengthen our offering to clients in the region, complementing our existing expertise."
