The proposals for a no-fault divorce process has been condemned as 'a marriagewreckers' charter' by the Christian Institute. The charity said divorce is already at epidemic levels and the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Bill will make this worse and create 'enormous instability in marriage'. The Institute's director Colin Hart said: 'We are already seeing a deeply worrying shift in young people's attitudes, away from Christian marriage and lifelong commitment to your husband or wife. Forty-two percent of marriages already end in divorce but the government is carrying on as it wants it to be 100 per cent.' 9 August 2019
