MPs have overwhelmingly voted in favour of the Divorce Bill which would end fault-based divorce, removing the need to prove adultery, unreasonable behaviour or desertion to secure a divorce. Chair of Resolution Margaret Heathcote welcomed the news calling the vote 'a victory for common sense and compassion'. She said no-fault divorce 'will ensure more families are able to come to long lasting, amicable and constructive agreements which benefit everyone involved, particularly children'. Royal assent to the bill could be imminent. 8 June
