Law Society unveils finalists for Excellence Awards 2014
Shortlist reveals a breadth of talent throughout the legal profession
Local practices, in-house teams and large City firms are all represented in the finals for the Law Society Excellence Awards 2014.
Selected by a panel of senior industry experts there are ten team or firm categories and six individual categories in total up for grabs.
The award categories include Junior Lawyer of the Year, Solicitor Advocate of the Year, Legal Business Woman of the Year and Excellence in Pro Bono.
The new president of the Law Society, Andrew Caplen, said: "I am proud to call myself a solicitor, and who can blame me with such impressive peers? Despite tough economic times and challenging legislative changes, our profession is continuously innovating and succeeding.
"We are in possession of the world's most respected and most referenced legal system, which is only possible - and only maintained - because of the intellect, skill and integrity of our members."
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by BBC News presenter Mishal Husain on 9 October at the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge, London.
Caplen continued: "I warmly congratulate this year's finalists, and look forward to meeting you all in person on 9 October at the ceremony in London."
