Law Society launches justice system project

Project aims to make the justice system fit for the future
The Law Society of England and Wales announced the launch of the 21st Century Justice project on 10 March, which aims to make the justice system fit for the future. The project will initially focus on five key areas specific to the civil justice system: power imbalances in alternative dispute resolution; help for small businesses and those not eligible for legal aid to meet legal costs; the role of solicitors in digitalisation of the justice system; big data and access to justice; and civil legal aid. The project will be supported by an advisory group of experts, which includes academics, NGOs, legal professionals, LawTech leaders, and business and consumer groups.
