Crockett & Co Solicitors shortlisted for two awards at the Yorkshire Legal Awards
Law firm Crockett & Co, based in Harehills, has been shortlisted for two awards at the Yorkshire Legal Awards, one of the legal sector's most prestigious industry events
The family law and domestic violence specialists are shortlisted for the first time in the Small Law Firm of the Year category, while founder Helen Crockett is shortlisted for the fifth successive year in the Yorkshire Lawyer of the Year category.
The awards ceremony will take place on 5 October in Leeds to celebrate and recognise the achievements of the legal talent across Yorkshire.
Helen Crockett, founder and director at Crockett & Co, said: “We are proud to be shortlisted in these two hotly contested award categories and hope we can take them home for the team. It’s been a breakthrough year for the Crockett Family as we celebrate 30 successful years in Harehills and forge ahead with our growth plans for the future.
“This shortlisting is testament to the quality and value of the work undertaken by the team in the last three decades, and our relentless work within the local community. We are so proud of our long-standing high street practice and hope that the incredible feedback we receive daily from our clients stands out to judges, as well as our community-first values and staff focus.

Crockett & Co was established by founder Helen Crockett in 1991 and has remained in the same HQ on Harehills Lane since 1993, becoming a mainstay of the local community for the past 30 years. It employs 10 staff, with plans to recruit more this year.
The company has become a force in family law in the Leeds area, in particular Care, PLO, non-molestation injunctions and private law children matters. It represents those who are particularly vulnerable through publicly funded legal advice.
To celebrate its thirtieth anniversary in Harehills this month, the team will take part in a charity abseil to raise money for Leeds Women’s Aid, Zarach and LIP (Leeds Involving People). The firm is also committing to 30 acts of kindness throughout the next year; from providing wellness packs for homeless people in the area and furnishing the homes of local residents, to making clothing donations and proving nourishing meals to those who need it most.
Helen adds: “As part of the year-long acts of kindness campaign, we have already purchased a fridge freezer for a local gentleman whose appliance broke, bought new bedding for a client, and arranged for a young mother to travel and stay in London for a week so that she can spend time with her child in Great Ormond Street Hospital. It’s what we love doing.”
