BonelliErede has strengthened its ranks with the arrival of 15 professionals led by Alessandro De Nicola from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe’s Milan offices

A group from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe’s Milan office, led by partner Alessandro De Nicola, joins the firm’s Legal Risk, Compliance & Investigations Dept and IP, Privacy and IT Law Dept
The addition of the new team members – who will be based in Milan – is part of a wider strategy to consolidate the firm’s Legal Risk, Compliance & Investigations Dept and its IP, Privacy and IT Law Dept.
The Legal Risk, Compliance & Investigations Dept – which already includes Vincenzo Dell’Osso and Valentina Frignati – will welcome partners Alessandro De Nicola, Marco Dell’Antonia and Marco Mancino, of counsel Laura Cappiello, senior counsel Riccardo Caselle, and managing associate Jacopo Taddei. They will be joined by associates Natalia Barbera, Elena Carrara, Valentina Mancuso and Valentina Sarpi Montella and trainee Giordana Renditiso.
Giovanni Guglielmetti, Tommaso Faelli and the rest of the IP, Privacy & IT Law Dept will welcome partner Ivan Rotunno and of counsel Michele Bertani, who is also a full professor of industrial property law at the University of Pavia. They will be joined by associates Giulia Rivarola di Roccella and Martina Acquaro.
The new team members boast undisputed national leadership in legal risk management and compliance and investigations, which – combined with their expertise in privacy law, cybersecurity and IP – make them unique in the legal landscape of integrated compliance.
They are also recognised as market leaders by the industry’s leading international guides: Chambers & Partners ranks De Nicola and his team as Band 1, and The Legal 500 EMEA ranks De Nicola in its ‘Hall of Fame’, Dell’Antonia in ‘Leading Individuals’, and Cappiello and Rotunno in ‘Rising Stars’.
The lateral hire will serve to create Italy’s leading integrated compliance and investigations practice – the market’s go-to advisor for decisions concerning corporate governance, the decision-making process, legal risk management, and internal investigations.
BonelliErede’s managing partner, Eliana Catalano, and chairman, Massimiliano Danusso, had this to say: “We’ re delighted to welcome this great team. We are confident that they will be able to put the know-how and experience gained in such an international environment to great use with us, in full synergy with the type of work we do and our areas of expertise, and lead to only further success. Our goal is to continue to strengthen BonelliErede’s leadership in Italy and international standing. Their arrival marks further growth in that direction and another step towards that goal, in line with the main pillars underlying our strategic plan – which include bringing on the best professional skills”.
