Birketts supports Finelight Group's major acquisition

Birketts has successfully advised Finelight Group Limited, a prominent international B2B media, events and intelligence group, in its acquisition of the BSM Group of companies. This landmark transaction marks the largest acquisition Finelight Group has made to date and signifies a pivotal moment in the Norwich-based company’s growth journey. The BSM Group is well-known for organising prestigious exhibitions such as The Business Show, The International Franchise Show and the White & Private Label Expo, as well as a range of specialist co-located events. This acquisition not only enhances Finelight Group's existing portfolio but also expands its operational footprint across several key markets including the UK, Canada, the United States, Singapore and Australia.

The legal team at Birketts played an essential role in guiding Finelight Group throughout the acquisition process, meticulously supporting a complex international corporate restructure that was necessary before finalising the deal. The transaction required seamless collaboration with legal advisers across multiple jurisdictions to ensure a well-coordinated cross-border solution.
