Winckworth Sherwood enhances its insolvency practice

Winckworth Sherwood has bolstered its restructuring and insolvency practice with Partner David Fendt's recent appointment
Winckworth Sherwood has announced the appointment of Partner David Fendt, which further strengthens its growing restructuring and insolvency practice. David joined the firm on 8 June from JMW Solicitors, where he was a partner in its restructuring and insolvency team. His arrival comes shortly after the recent appointment of Lee Ranford, who joined from JMW in May to lead Winckworth Sherwood’s Insolvency and Restructuring practice.
David Fendt brings a wealth of experience, specialising in both corporate and personal insolvency, with particular focus on contentious matters. He advises insolvency practitioners, as well as defendants to office-holder claims, and supports a wide range of stakeholders affected by financial distress. This includes company boards, charity trustees, creditors, debtors, spouses, as well as landlords and tenants.
Commenting on his appointment, David said “I am impressed by Winckworth Sherwood’s strong reputation, the breadth of its sector expertise, and the quality of its client base. I look forward to working with Lee to build the insolvency and restructuring practice and to bringing my experience to the firm.”
Richard Tinham, Managing Partner at Winckworth Sherwood, expressed his thoughts as well, stating “We are continuing to invest in building a market-leading restructuring and insolvency practice. David’s appointment, following Lee’s arrival in May, underlines our ambition in this area and our commitment to growing a high-quality team.” The firm's focus on expansion within this sector suggests a strong future for both their practice and clients alike
