Walkers strengthens private capital presence in Guernsey

Walkers has bolstered its Private Capital & Trusts offering in Guernsey through the appointment of Jennifer Morries as senior counsel
Morries has a commendable background, having worked as an associate partner at a prominent private client practice and is a full member of STEP, qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales since 2013. Her experience includes advising high-net-worth individuals and families on complex cross-border arrangements, especially in international wealth structuring and intergenerational planning.
Walkers’ Channel Islands Private Capital & Trusts team, overseen by partner Rupert Morris, operates across its Jersey and Guernsey offices, providing comprehensive advice to an international clientele on various private wealth matters. The firm's robust presence in the Channel Islands is further enhanced by its capability of advising on five different laws, enabling the team to adopt a jurisdiction-agnostic approach tailored to meet individual client requirements.
Rupert Morris expressed confidence in Morries’ abilities, stating that “Jennifer brings strong technical experience advising individuals and families on complex private wealth structures. Her arrival further enhances our ability to support clients across multiple jurisdictions from our Channel Islands platform.” Morries herself highlighted the firm’s established practice by noting that “Walkers has a well-established Private Capital & Trusts practice with a clear focus on cross-border client work. I look forward to working with colleagues across the Channel Islands to support clients with their evolving structuring and succession needs.”
The appointment of Jennifer Morries is a clear indication of Walkers’ commitment to strengthening its Private Capital & Trusts practice, which has been recognised for its excellence in the legal field. The firm has recently been included in the 2025 ePrivateClient Top Offshore Law Firms ranking for the eighth consecutive year, alongside its recognition in the 2026 Private Client Global Elite Directory, where six of its Channel Islands lawyers were acknowledged as leading advisers to ultra-high-net-worth clients.
