The UK has made nearly 100,000 amendments to domestic and EU legislation since 2018, according to research from Thomson Reuters. By early December, the UK had made 50,000 amendments to EU legislation in respect of that retained in the UK after 1 January 2021. The areas of law include financial regulation, banking and finance, employment and social security. A further 43,000 amendments have also been made to existing UK laws contained in 900 Brexit-related statutory instruments.
