Taylor Emmet reveals new HQ location

This relocation marks an essential chapter in the firm’s evolution, with the newly renovated 14,885 sq ft space designed to accommodate modern work practices while fostering a collaborative atmosphere for employees and clients alike.

The Isaacs Building, an iconic seven-storey Edwardian structure on Charles Street, was originally constructed between 1904 and 1905. The building’s distinctive Victorian brick and terracotta façade on Pinstone Street has been preserved, blending the charm of heritage architecture with a contemporary office environment tailored to current work trends.

Taylor Emmet’s move into this prominent location reduces its office footprint by 7,040 sq ft and introduces an adaptive workspace aimed at enhancing communication and employee wellbeing. Rated BREEAM Very Good, the new headquarters is linked to Sheffield's District Energy Network, ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability.

Inside the Isaacs Building, a warm and modern aesthetic prevails, showcasing natural wood, dark timber, and plants complemented by soft furnishings and abundant natural light. The flexible work areas, including open-plan desks, meeting rooms, and informal breakout spaces, encourage teamwork, interaction, and productivity throughout the day.

Many of the meeting rooms and pods celebrate Sheffield’s cultural and historical identity, drawing inspiration from its rivers, landmarks, and parks. Notably, the firm's expansive training and meeting area is aptly named The Foundry, referencing Sheffield's industrial past and its legacy of innovation.

In addition, the entrance features a dedicated breakout space where colleagues and visitors can informally gather over coffee, creating opportunities for connection before proceeding to the main area.

Steve Hinshelwood, chief executive of Taylor Emmet, expressed the significance of this transition, stating, "Moving into the Isaacs Building is an important milestone for Taylor Emmet and represents our confidence in the future of Sheffield and our own continued growth."
