Shaw Graham Kersh welcomes new partner

Shaw Graham Kersh has announced Claire Bostock will join as a Partner to lead their new department
Shaw Graham Kersh has made a significant announcement regarding its growth plans within the legal sector. The firm has revealed that Claire Bostock, a leading criminal appellate specialist, will join as a Partner effective 1 June 2026. Claire's new role will be to establish and head the firm’s Criminal Appeals Department, which will launch on the same date with a primary focus on private appeals.
Claire Bostock comes to Shaw Graham Kersh with an impressive background in criminal law, which includes her previous position at the Centre for Criminal Appeals (APPEAL). At APPEAL, she was among the most senior solicitors focused on miscarriage of justice cases, lending her a wealth of experience that the firm believes will significantly bolster its existing criminal appeals practice. Prior to her tenure at APPEAL, Claire dedicated two decades to a leading criminal defence firm, Birds Solicitors, now part of Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors, where her specialist appeal work garnered consistent recognition in legal directories.
In addition to her legal practice, Claire actively participates in the broader legal community. She serves as a committee member of the Criminal Appeal Lawyers' Association (CALA) and is both a committee member and co-training officer for the London Criminal Courts Solicitors' Association (LCCSA).
Commenting on her new role, Claire shared, "I am delighted to be joining Shaw Graham Kersh as part of the firm's growth plans across its complex and serious crime practice areas. With the criminal justice system under significant strain — from resourcing pressures to mounting backlogs in the Magistrates' and Crown Courts — effective appellate work has never been more critical. I look forward to building out Shaw Graham Kersh's specialist capabilities in this field”.
