The merged firm will be known as RWK Goodman

Royds Withy King has announced it is set to merge with Goodman Derrick on 1 May 2022.

The merged firm will be known as RWK Goodman LLP. The firm will continue to trade from Royds Withy King’s current offices across the South West, Thames Valley and London. Goodman Derrick’s London office will close.

Graham Street, Royds Withy King’s managing partner, commented: “This merger is a significant step forward for both firms. For Royds Withy King it strengthens our position as a Top 100 UK practice enhancing and significantly extending the breadth and depth of expertise and specialist services available to clients, particularly in the areas of Corporate and Real Estate.”

Edward Hoare, senior partner of Goodman Derrick, commented: “It was clear from the outset that both firms shared a similar culture and strong focus on exceptional client service. The merger is great news as it extends the range of specialist services available for the benefit of both firms’ clients, and creates significant opportunities for growth and development.”

Street will be RWK Goodman’s managing partner. Hoare will join the firm’s executive committee, along with and chief operating officer Mark Jones.

RWK Goodman will comprise approximately 360 specialist lawyers, with around a third being London-based. The firm said it remains committed to its strategic focus on achieving sustainable growth across each of its business, personal and injury practices.
