Leeds and Newcastle-based Parklane Plowden Chambers has welcomed five new members to its growing team of barristers, expanding its existing group of 119 barristers, including nine silks
Arya Vindlacheruvu and Jessica Ashcroft now join the civil and employment practice, while Rachel Carter and Theo Corbett are part of the family practice. Maryam Naaz enriches the chancery and commercial team.
Arya Vindlacheruvu, called in 2023, was mentored by Andrew Webster, Abigail Telford, and Jim Hester before joining the chambers as a county court advocate. Jessica Ashcroft, who was called in 2025, completed her pupillage under the guidance of Anna Datta, Gareth Price, and Tom Nossiter, and she is building a practice focused on personal injury, clinical negligence, and employment. Rachel Carter, called in 2022, is now a tenant after completing her family pupillage in October 2025 with supervision from Farzana Tai and Julie Richardson. Theo Corbett, also called in 2025, has received guidance from Simon Wilkinson and Iain Hutchinson, and he is developing his practice in family law. Maryam Naaz, called in 2025 as well, undertook her chancery and commercial pupillage with the support of Stuart Roberts, Anna Metcalfe, Cait Sweeney, and Bryan Patterson-Whitaker.
Andy Sugarman, head of pupillage at Parklane Plowden, commented on the new tenancies by stating “This has been an excellent cohort of pupils who are already building strong practises in their specialist areas. We are delighted that they have all accepted tenancy and look forward to supporting them in what we have no doubt will be a bright future.” Established in 2007, Parklane Plowden Chambers now boasts a total of 124 barristers across its locations in Leeds and Newcastle, under the leadership of head of chambers Elizabeth Hodgson.
