Mishcon de Reya has announced the promotion of 13 individuals to Equity Partner alongside other promotions in various ranks
Mishcon de Reya has today announced that 13 individuals have been promoted to Equity Partner in the firm's latest round of promotions. In addition, 16 people have been elevated to Legal Director, while two have been appointed as Of Counsel. The firm also saw 28 promotions to Managing Associate. Commenting on the news, Managing Partner James Libson said "As the outgoing Managing Partner, it is my privilege one last time to congratulate all of our newly promoted fee earners. Every year I am delighted to see the strength and breadth of talent we have in our firm and it’s such a pleasure to see Junior Equity Partners promoted to Equity Partner, welcome new partners to the partnership, and support our new Of Counsel, Directors and Managing Associates to take the next steps in their careers. I am delighted to see their talent and hard work rewarded and look forward to watching their continued progress.” All promotions took effect from 1 April 2026.
The newly promoted Equity Partners include Andrew Short, who is part of the Commercial Litigation team and has significant experience in public inquiries, investigations and crisis management. David Kanter specialises in commercial real estate within the firm’s Real Estate department and advises a diverse clientele on high-value transactions. David Parsons acts in various aspects of employment law, representing both employers and employees in disputes at the Supreme Court and other courts. Hannah Barnett focuses on UK immigration matters, while James Paterson directs his expertise towards private equity-related transactions within the Corporate Department.
Matthew Bowles has extensive experience in the Commercial Real Estate department, while Matthew Ewens focuses on white-collar crime and investigations. Matthew Wood advises on employment law matters, often litigating disputes in the High Court. Neil Shanghavi has a strong practice in business and corporate immigration law, while Robert Lewis leads the firm's Education Group and provides legal advice to institutions. Sarah Heritage handles property disputes for private clients, and Tom Middleton possesses considerable expertise in commercial real estate transactions. Lastly, Tom Roberts operates within the Dispute Resolution department with a focus on group actions and commercial litigation.
