Magara Law expands with new office

Magara Law, founded during the Covid pandemic, opens its fourth office, showcasing extraordinary growth and impact on employment law
Established in Oxfordshire at the height of the Covid pandemic, Magara Law has recently opened its fourth office in just four years, demonstrating a remarkable trajectory of growth amid challenging times. The firm, which focuses on employment law, now operates in Banbury, Reading, central London, and its original base in Bicester. Founded in 2020 by Solicitor Advocate Roy Magara, the practice has evolved from a one-person operation to a vibrant team of eight, with aspirations to double its workforce by the end of 2025.
Roy's personal journey inspired the founding of Magara Law after he was unexpectedly furloughed from a reputable law firm. He reflected on this sudden shift, saying, “Like so many others, I found myself going from career stability to complete uncertainty overnight. I had spent many years studying and practising employment law, so to suddenly find myself in a precarious employment situation was ironic.” Today, the firm boasts a diverse range of services, addressing unfair dismissal, discrimination, and workplace disputes. It also assists employers with settlement agreements and guidance on staff policies, alongside representation at tribunals.
The firm’s reputation has soared, earning a spot among the top employment law firms in the UK, as highlighted by a perfect 5-star rating on ReviewSolicitors across nearly 500 client reviews. Roy established the practice on principles of justice and a strong Christian faith, emphasising the value of offering both legal expertise and genuine empathetic support. He elaborated, “When I started the business, I wanted to ensure that other people in challenging situations were able to access the right help. Employment matters can have a hugely detrimental effect on people’s lives, and my colleagues and I understand the value of providing care and support alongside expert legal solutions for our clients.”
Since its inception, Magara Law has been recognised with several awards, including the StartUp Awards’ Oxfordshire StartUp of the Year in 2023 and a Gold Winner at the SME National Business Awards in 2024. As the firm grows, its commitment to upholding the founding principles of justice and fairness continues to guide its mission.
