Kuits Solicitors has appointed Dr Craig Brownlie to strengthen its intellectual property team with his expertise
Kuits Solicitors, a Manchester-based commercial law firm, has announced the appointment of Dr Craig Brownlie as a consultant patent attorney in its intellectual property (IP) team. This strategic move aims to expand the firm's expertise in the realms of drafting, filing, and obtaining patents, further enhancing Kuits' full-service IP offering.
Dr Brownlie brings considerable experience as a UK and European patent attorney, boasting a technical background in physics and materials science. His career has encompassed patent drafting, prosecution, and contentious proceedings across various sectors. He has successfully advised a range of clients, from early-stage startups and spinouts to large corporate entities. Dr Brownlie focuses on helping these clients develop robust IP strategies that protect innovation and underpin investment, while also collaborating with overseas counsel on cross-border matters.
His technical expertise spans a plethora of technologies, including autonomous vehicles, satellite navigation, nanotechnology, energy storage, telecommunications, robotics, and medical devices. Notably, Dr Brownlie possesses significant knowledge in software patents and computer-implemented inventions, making his skill set particularly valuable to a wide range of clients.
