Johnson Law Group appoints Nishanth Vasanth

Johnson Law Group has expanded its London office by welcoming Associate Nishanth Vasanth to the team
Johnson Law Group (JLG), a distinguished law firm focused on consumer and group litigation, has taken a significant step in its expansion by appointing Associate Nishanth Vasanth to its London office. Nishanth, who joins JLG following a notable tenure in some of the largest group claims in England & Wales, brings with him a wealth of experience. His previous work included vital cases such as the Municipio de Mariana & Ors v BHP Group (UK) Limited & Anor, which addressed the environmental consequences following the catastrophic collapse of the Fundão dam in Brazil. In addition, he played a crucial role in the Pan NOx Emissions Group Litigation, centred on allegations concerning defeat devices in diesel engines.
Before his work in the UK, Nishanth honed his legal skills as a Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of India, where he engaged with a diverse range of legal issues spanning constitutional, commercial, and public law. JLG, which is headquartered in Manchester, opened its London office in 2024 and has experienced significant growth, enhancing its ability to handle complex, large-scale group claims for consumers throughout the UK.
Speaking of his appointment, Nishanth Vasanth said “I am looking forward to the range of litigation envisaged at JLG London and the possibility of harnessing the firm's transatlantic capabilities to effectuate them. The idea of simultaneously working on litigations which are at different stages of their lifecycle is genuinely exciting and is a huge part of why I became a disputes lawyer.”
Peter Gallagher, London Managing Partner of Johnson Law Group, expressed his enthusiasm for Nishanth's addition to the team, stating “Nishanth brings impressive experience across complex, large-scale litigation, alongside a strong commitment to claimant-focused legal work. We’re delighted to welcome him to the London office at an exciting stage of growth for the firm, and look forward to the contribution he will make to both our clients and the wider team.”
