Ison Harrison opens new office in South Yorkshire

Ison Harrison has opened a fully staffed office in Penistone, marking its 25th location in total.
The new branch signifies an important expansion into South Yorkshire for the employee-owned law firm, which has long had a strong presence in West and North Yorkshire. Situated at 1 Crown House on Market Street, the office resides in a historic two-storey building that was once the Rose and Crown pub, a well-known coaching inn since around 1749. The opening follows the establishment of a city centre hub in Bradford earlier this year and reflects a remarkable growth trajectory for Ison Harrison, which transitioned to a 100% employee-owned model in 2022. The firm's revenue has significantly increased, surpassing £35 million for 2025.
Under the leadership of branch manager and experienced conveyancer Lyndsay Clark, the Penistone location will deliver a wide range of legal services. The team comprises specialists across various departments, including conveyancing, wills and probate, commercial property, and family law, with an emphasis on community engagement. "My team and I joined Ison Harrison earlier in the year with a view to opening and running a new Penistone office and we were delighted when we were able to secure such a prominent office on Market Street," said Clark. The firm places great importance on understanding local needs, and with several team members already familiar with the area, a strong foundation is already in place.
Jonathan Wearing, managing director of Ison Harrison, elaborated on the firm's commitment, stating, "Our strategic expansion across Yorkshire has been driven entirely by client demand. Strengthening our presence in South Yorkshire via Penistone is a natural next step for us.” He noted the significance of acquiring a historic building and establishing a highly skilled local team to meet growing client needs, reinforcing the firm's continued drive for shared success and client-focused growth.
The new office not only provides comprehensive legal services but also boasts convenient on-site parking and full disabled access to its meeting areas. Ison Harrison now employs over 450 staff across Yorkshire, standing out as a law firm with 13 Law Society accreditations and a diverse range of legal services. Their recent accolade as one of the Best Places to Work 2026 by The Sunday Times underscores their commitment to employee satisfaction and quality service delivery. The firm looks forward to becoming an integral part of the Penistone community while continuing its expansion across the region.
