Haynes and Boone, LLP is delighted to announce the addition of Insolvency Partner Michael Mulligan to the firm’s London office and Restructuring Practice Group and Litigation Department. Michael joins with over 20 years of experience in insolvency, mostly in litigation and other contentious matters.

Michael is a highly experienced contentious insolvency and commercial litigation lawyer with experience in all aspects of corporate recovery, bankruptcy, fraud, asset recovery and enforcement. His cases often cross multiple jurisdictions, and he undertakes high-value international arbitration work.

Michael previously spent over four years as an attorney in the Cayman Islands, where he represented the Cayman Islands in the Lawyers Rugby World Cup. Despite residing in the U.K., he is still instructed by international clients based in the Caribbean and other offshore jurisdictions.

"I have known about Haynes Boone for quite some time and noted their work in the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands on cross-border funds restructuring,” Michael said. “The opportunity to join the firm’s established insolvency group is an exciting one, especially given the distinguished reputation of Haynes Boone internationally."

The news marks the continuation of a consistent growth period for Haynes Boone in London, which has added seven partners since April, including three lateral hires in the burgeoning Investment Management Group and three via promotion over the summer.

“The addition of Michael brings our London office to a total of 21 partners, showing our commitment to the firm’s growth in the U.K.,” Haynes Boone London Office Managing Partner William Cecil said. “Michael’s established reputation in the market for providing urgent, practical advice in often difficult situations will be a great asset for the London office and our clients.”
