Ian Burton joins ‘one to watch’ Jurit LLP
Experienced corporate and commercial lawyer, Ian Burton, has joined virtual law firm Jurit LLP as a consultant solicitor
Bringing with him over 30 years’ experience in corporate M&A and commercial legal advice, Ian joined Jurit LLP – a Legal 500 ‘One to Watch’ firm (2024) - in the Autumn.
He specialises in advising companies in the UK and abroad on a comprehensive range of corporate and commercial matters which has seen him act on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and major commercial contracts ranging in value from £100,000 to £2 billion.
Ian began his career at Nicholson Graham & Jones in 1992, before moving to Nabarro Nathanson in 1996, and has run his own law firm, Ian Burton Legal, for the past four years.
Prior to this, he worked for US firm Paul Hastings in London for several years where he was involved in establishing the firm’s London practice, before setting up City boutique law firm Starr & Partners where he was a partner for ten years.
Ian commented: “After taking a short career break, I am delighted to have joined Jurit as a consultant solicitor. In getting to know the firm, it soon became clear that there was a great synergy between Jurit and me, which has turned into something exciting for both of us.
“I’m lucky enough to have worked with many different businesses over the last 30 years – both in the UK and internationally – and it was clear that there would be much by way of complementary skills and experience for me to bring to Jurit, at a time of significant growth for its corporate and commercial practices.”
Ian has worked with businesses across a broad range of sectors over the years, including oil and gas, healthcare, telecoms, pharmaceuticals, marine engineering and financial services.
