Goodwin advises Paragon on BALDUR acquisition financing

Goodwin has successfully advised PP Plants GmbH, part of Paragon Partners GmbH, on securing credit facilities aimed at refinancing the acquisition of BALDUR-Garten GmbH and its subsidiaries
This strategic financing sees participation from notable institutions including Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft, CIC Private Debt SAS, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, and ODDO BHF. BALDUR, a digital direct-to-consumer platform specialising in garden plants and supplies, operates out of Bensheim and serves over one million customers annually across the DACH region and Benelux, offering a diverse product range of more than 1,500 items.
Established in 2004, Paragon Partners is an owner-managed private group engaging in investments within medium-sized enterprises in German-speaking countries, collaborating closely with portfolio companies to foster sustainable growth and operational excellence. Currently, Paragon’s diverse portfolio comprises 13 companies across various industries. The Goodwin transaction team involved in this intricate financing comprised Winfried M. Carli, Folko Moroni, Marius Garnatz Maskus, Jakob Lutzenberger, Anna Zoth, Rina Omura, all from the Private Equity/Debt Finance department in Munich, together with Philipp Lauer from the Tax division in Munich
