Fortra acquires Zero Point Security Limited

Gateley Legal has successfully advised Fortra in acquiring Zero Point Security, enhancing Fortra’s cybersecurity training capabilities and portfolio
In a significant move to bolster its cybersecurity offerings, Fortra has acquired the entire issued share capital of Zero Point Security Limited, a UK-based leader in offensive security and red team operations training. This acquisition is set to strengthen Fortra’s already prestigious offensive security portfolio while expanding its global training capabilities. Based in Warrington, Zero Point Security is renowned for its advanced training programmes, particularly in adversary emulation.
Integrating Zero Point Security’s specialist programmes will enable Fortra to enhance the accessibility of elite red team education. This development aims to help organisations upskill their cybersecurity teams with practical, adversary-focused techniques, ultimately leading to improved security measures against cyber threats.
The Gateley Legal team, which assisted Fortra throughout this important transaction, was led by corporate partner David Armitage. He was supported by a team that included corporate senior associate Michael Rock, corporate solicitor Cordelia Stephens, intellectual property, commercial, and technology legal director Tom Hughes, employment partner Paul Ball, tax partner Richard Clitherow, and tax solicitor Steven Spisto-Luces.
Fortra CEO Matthew Reck expressed optimism about the acquisition, highlighting that “Zero Point Security will play a pivotal role in shaping an enhanced training portfolio, enabling Fortra to help organisations worldwide upskill their teams in adversary focused techniques, and adopt a purple team mindset for stronger, more complete protection.”
In addition, David Armitage remarked, “We’re pleased to have supported Fortra on this important acquisition. Zero Point Security has built an exceptional reputation in the offensive security training market, and the combination with Fortra’s established cyber capabilities creates a strong platform for continued global growth. It was a pleasure working with the Fortra team on this transaction, and we look forward to seeing the business continue to grow.”
