Eversheds Sutherland 'joins forces' with Ireland's Kenny Solicitors to expand litigation and real estate offerings

Kenny's Solicitors will become part of Eversheds Sutherland in Ireland

Eversheds Sutherland has announced it is set to expand its commercial litigation and real estate offerings as it “joins forces” with Dublin-based Kenny Solicitors. The move will bolster Eversheds Sutherland’s expertise to meet rising demand for litigation and real estate services from its growing domestic and international client base.

This latest development follows recent accelerated growth for Eversheds Sutherland in its corporate and commercial divisions, including employment, data protection, intellectual property, cyber security, dispute resolution and litigation, risk and investigations, tax and financial services.

Kenny Solicitors is one of Ireland’s leading private client legal firms. It is a full-service commercial firm and specialises in property, commercial agreements and commercial litigation. It has a large and prestigious client base, which ranges from publicly listed companies to some of Ireland’s most well-known business leaders.

Kenny Solicitors' team of lawyers, led by principal Graham Kenny, will become part of the Eversheds Sutherland’s team in Ireland of over 300 professionals. Kenny became a new partner in Eversheds Sutherland’s dispute resolution and litigation practice group with effect from 1 June 2022. His team will have a specific focus on insolvency, restructuring, commercial litigation and real estate matters.

Before founding Kenny Solicitors, Kenny was a commercial solicitor in one of the top five largest firms in the country and a partner in another successful Dublin law firm. He has represented clients in some of the largest commercial cases to ever come before the Irish courts and regularly advises leading domestic and international companies on commercial agreements, corporate finance and regulatory issues. Kenny has also been a lecturer for The Law Society of Ireland for its Higher Diploma in Corporate Recovery and Insolvency.

Alan Connell, managing partner of Eversheds Sutherland, said: “Moving beyond the challenges of the past couple of years, and in response to the ever-increasing globalisation of the economy, joining forces with Kenny Solicitors and Graham, with an impressive depth of talent, demonstrates our confidence to continually invest where there is clear market demand, as we strive to not only meet but stay ahead of our clients’ needs.

“As the largest and most established full-service global law practice in the country, with an all-island offering, this combination of capabilities, top-quality legal expertise and a shared commercially-driven approach will enable Eversheds Sutherland LLP to continue providing excellent service to all our clients and further strengthen our existing commercial litigation practice generally, and our insolvency and restructuring practice in particular. I would like to wish Graham and all his team every continued success.”

Kenny commented: “This is a very exciting moment in time for Kenny Solicitors and we are delighted to join forces with Ireland’s only full-service international law practice. Just like Eversheds Sutherland LLP’s Partners and Solicitors, our aim has always been to work in a collaborative partnership with clients to deliver premium legal advice on time and within budget.

“As well as gaining access to a global network, we are all looking forward to continuing to support existing and new clients by working closely with our new colleagues to provide expert services.”
