Clifton Ingram enhances property litigation team

Clifton Ingram has appointed Sam Fellows as Partner, bolstering its Dispute Resolution team with expertise in property litigation
Leading law firm Clifton Ingram is proud to announce the recent appointment of Sam Fellows as a Partner in its Dispute Resolution team, effective May 5th. This strategic hire aims to strengthen the firm's specialist property litigation offering. Based in their Farnham office, Sam brings over a decade of post-qualification experience in both commercial and residential property litigation. His addition is expected to significantly enhance the technical capabilities of Clifton Ingram's Dispute Resolution team.
Sam's expertise covers a broad spectrum of property disputes, including business lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, restrictive covenants, and boundary disputes, along with more intricate issues such as adverse possession and rights of way. His refined specialism in leasehold enfranchisement and statutory lease extensions under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 is particularly valuable for the firm. These abilities will equip Clifton Ingram to better guide clients through an increasingly complex leasehold landscape, bolstering the array of specialist services offered to its expanding client base.
Sam’s career began at Maples Teesdale LLP in the City of London, where he trained, before developing his litigation expertise at Iliffes Booth Bennett LLP in Uxbridge for six years dealing with high-value County and High Court cases. He then took on senior positions at Field Seymour Parkes LLP in Reading and Knights in Weybridge, where he was promoted to Senior Associate in 2023, adeptly managing a caseload of both residential and commercial property work. Throughout his career, Sam has shown remarkable diligence, managing substantial litigation from initial instruction through to trial, enhancing referral networks, and establishing self-sufficient work pipelines. He has also served as a trainee supervisor at two firms, reflecting his commitment to fostering growth among colleagues.
In an enthusiastic statement, Sam remarked, “What drew me to Clifton Ingram was the calibre of its people and the genuine breadth of work across the firm’s offices. I am looking forward to playing an active role in building a team that approaches litigation with pragmatism and empathy, and has the resources to handle complex matters to the highest standard.”
Jonathan Foulds, Managing Partner and Head of Commercial Property at Clifton Ingram, expressed delight in welcoming Sam to the partnership, noting, “He brings a formidable depth of experience in property litigation, and his specialist knowledge in leasehold matters is a particularly valuable addition to the team. Sam’s appointment is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to investing in the right expertise to serve our clients well, and we look forward to seeing the contribution he will make to the firm.”
