CG supports Oak Group's growth ambition

Leading North West law firm CG has played a pivotal role in the growth of its long-standing client, Oak Group Holdings, by advising on the employment aspects of their recent acquisition of Exhaust, Tyres and Batteries (ETB)
This acquisition represents a significant step towards Oak Group's ambition to expand its presence across the UK, as it adds two wholesale sites and 52 retail locations across the Midlands, Wales and South West England to their portfolio. Furthermore, this strategic move will nearly double the group's workforce, increasing it from approximately 450 to around 1,000 employees.
CG has maintained a collaborative relationship with Oak Group for around six years, and was specifically brought on board for this transaction to provide specialist advice on employment law matters associated with the acquisition. The firm guided Oak Group through all employment-related issues that arose during the deal, ensuring that they were well-prepared for the integration of their expanded workforce and operations. They will continue to support Oak Group on a retained basis following the completion of the transaction.
Louise Myers, Managing Partner at CG, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, stating, “We are pleased to have supported Oak Group on this important transaction. Having worked closely with the business over a number of years, we understand its strategic objectives and were able to provide clear, commercially focused employment advice throughout. We look forward to continuing to support the group as it progresses through its next phase of growth.”
Peter Cross, Commercial Director at Oak Tyres, also highlighted the value CG brought to the deal, saying, “CG’s longstanding understanding of our business, combined with their employment law expertise, made them a natural choice to support us on this acquisition. Their advice was clear and pragmatic throughout, and we value their continued support as we move forward.”
