Kevin Cordina joins Carpmaels & Ransford to enhance its Engineering & Tech practice amid growth plans
Carpmaels & Ransford, the full-service European intellectual property firm, has today announced that Kevin Cordina, former Head of UK IP at Simmons & Simmons in their London office, has been appointed as a Partner. Cordina brings with him a wealth of experience in complex patent matters, with specific expertise in electronics, telecoms, software and medical devices. His arrival marks the second partner hire in Carpmaels & Ransford’s 250th anniversary year, expanding the firm’s renowned Engineering & Tech practice, whilst also bolstering its IP disputes work.
A UK and European Patent Attorney, Cordina advises major innovative tech and healthcare companies on their patent portfolios and strategy. He has an outstanding track record in opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office, and has more recently worked on cases at the Unified Patent Court. He advises on all aspects of patent procurement, portfolio management, patent enforcement and defence, including how to protect, monetise and enforce standard essential patents.
