Burgess Mee appoints Victoria Sterritt as legal director

Burgess Mee has announced the appointment of Victoria Sterritt as a Legal Director, strengthening its family law team
Burgess Mee, a prominent family law firm, has expanded its team with the appointment of Victoria Sterritt as a Legal Director in London. Starting today, Victoria brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked at leading Belfast firm Davidson McDonnell, now part of Browne Jacobson Northern Ireland, where she served as a Legal Director and headed the private client team, focusing on London-based clientele.
Victoria, dual qualified in England & Wales and Northern Ireland, has dedicated her career exclusively to family law since her qualification. She is adept at advising on a comprehensive range of issues stemming from relationship breakdowns. Her expertise particularly shines in child arrangements, handling complex matters such as education disputes, allegations of serious abuse, international relocation, and wrongful retention cases.
Alongside her skills in child-related issues, Victoria also boasts extensive experience with corporate and commercial structures linked to farms, family businesses, and trust arrangements. This knowledge is invaluable whether navigating divorce proceedings or creating protective nuptial and cohabitation agreements. With a progressive outlook on family law, Victoria understands how the legal framework must evolve to meet the needs of changing family dynamics.
An advocate for out-of-court resolutions, Victoria is a trained mediator who represents a diverse clientele, including City traders, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, stay-at-home parents, and notable figures from the media and sports sectors. Peter Burgess, Senior Partner at Burgess Mee, expressed enthusiasm about her arrival, stating, “We are so pleased that Victoria is joining our team. Her strong experience in both financial and children cases and work in modern families is a perfect fit for our boutique practice. We look forward to working with her and welcoming her to the team.”
In response, Victoria expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity by saying, “I am delighted to join Burgess Mee. The firm’s commitment to client care, excellence and innovation makes for a particularly exciting opportunity and I look forward to joining such a highly regarded team.”
Victoria's professional journey includes training and practice at Tees Law, a partnership at Seddons in London, and her recent role at Davidson McDonnell. She is featured in Spear’s Family Law Index and is an active member of Resolution, along with her role on the committee of the London Irish Lawyers Association. Her appointment at Burgess Mee follows that of Susie Barter, who joined as a partner in May, signalling the firm’s commitment to strengthening its family law division.
