Senior Associate Owen Fear joins the Clinical Negligence team, bringing expertise garnered from his tenure at NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) - Legal and Risk Services. Owen's vast experience includes handling a diverse, high-value caseload, providing training on legal matters, and representation during the Covid-19 Public Inquiry. He will support Jonathan Fuggle, Partner and Division Lead in the Health Advisory and Litigation Department.

Emmanuelle Loubat, Legal Assistant, joins from Harding Evans LLP, where her focus was on commercial litigation. Her responsibilities included advising a Welsh Commissioner on public sector equality duty and representing a regulator in third-party disclosure orders concerning confidential material. Emmanuelle also gained insights through a secondment at the Gambling Commission.

The Cardiff office, established in June 2023, marks a significant step for Browne Jacobson's expansion strategy, co-founded by partner Tim Edds and Laura Hughes, the firm's Executive Lead for Wales. Browne Jacobson operates across multiple locations including Birmingham, Dublin, Exeter, London, Manchester, and Nottingham.

These appointments reaffirm Browne Jacobson's dedication to the Welsh market, extending legal counsel for over 25 years to entities such as the Welsh Government, Natural Resources Wales, and various local authorities and health boards.

Tim Edds and Laura Hughes, Partners at Browne Jacobson, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointments, emphasizing the team's alignment with Wales' evolving landscape. Their aim is to provide top-tier advice, serving both public and private sectors, and addressing societal challenges.
