Hall & Wilcox aids McKenzie Group's acquisition, ensuring continuity and expansion in building compliance services

Hall & Wilcox, a prominent independent law firm, has provided crucial guidance to McKenzie Group Consulting Pty Ltd in its acquisition of specific assets from Hendry Group Pty Ltd (Administrators Appointed). The assets purchased encompass Hendry Group’s Essential Safety Measures and Building Surveying divisions.

McKenzie Group, a significant player in Australia’s building surveying, accessibility, and compliance management consultancy, boasts over 35 years of industry presence. Supported by Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, McKenzie Group’s strategic move with this acquisition allows for geographic and market sector expansion while ensuring the retention of numerous Hendry Group employees.

Effectuated on December 1, 2023, this deal signifies McKenzie Group's foray into new territories and sectors, solidifying its position in the industry. The acquisition, handled by a cross-practice team at Hall & Wilcox, led by Partner Nicole Tumiati and supported by Partners Scott Butler and David Catanese, alongside Lawyers Daniel Shizas and Brooke Lynskey, addressed multifaceted aspects including M&A, insolvency, and employment law.

Expressing satisfaction with the acquisition, Partner Nicole Tumiati remarked, "This transaction establishes McKenzie Group as the preeminent provider of building compliance services in Australia’s construction industry."

Stephen Natilli, McKenzie Group's Executive Director, credited Nicole Tumiati and the Hall & Wilcox team, stating, "Their support enabled a swift completion of the deal, providing a new home for some of Hendry's staff and client contracts within McKenzie Group."

Hall & Wilcox, housing over 1000 individuals, including 130+ partners, across eight offices, serves a diverse clientele comprising corporate, public sector, and private entities, both domestic and international. Renowned for their expertise, particularly in Mergers & Acquisitions, the firm’s team is lauded for its comprehensive understanding of the complexities within M&A transactions.
