Weightmans has appointed Jason Slatcher as Chief Technology Officer to enhance technology and business strategy
Law firm Weightmans has named Jason Slatcher as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), marking an important evolution in the firm’s technological landscape. With over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Slatcher will also serve as a member of the firm’s Board, contributing significantly to the technology and business transformation initiatives.
Slatcher, who rejoined Weightmans as Interim IT Director in April 2026, has a rich history with the firm. His appointment underscores Weightmans’ unwavering commitment to innovation and technology, especially with the recent launch of Clio Operate as its new case and matter management platform, coupled with a strategic cloud migration programme in partnership with ANS. Sarah Walton, Managing Partner, emphasised Slatcher's value, saying “Jason is a trusted leader and has been working closely with colleagues across the business to help shape the next phase of our technology and business strategy.”
As the newly appointed CTO, Slatcher expressed enthusiasm about his role, stating “Having worked with the firm in several technology leadership positions, I have seen first-hand what makes this firm so special. It is a business with amazing people, a brilliant culture, and has a real ambition for the future.” His vision aligns with the firm’s aspirations to enhance client services and drive innovation.
In a transition of leadership, Stuart Whittle will step down as CTO and leave the Board but will continue his role as an Equity Partner until his retirement in March 2027. He remains integral to various strategic projects, particularly serving as Product Owner for Clio Operate, offering his substantial expertise and insights. Walton acknowledged Whittle’s contributions, adding “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Stuart for the outstanding contribution he has made to Weightmans.”
Weightmans recently celebrated impressive financial results for the 2025/26 fiscal year, with revenues up 12% to £162 million and net profits rising 17% to £17 million. This marks the firm’s fifth consecutive year of growth, highlighting its effective progress in line with its strategic objectives. As Weightmans looks toward the future, the leadership of Jason Slatcher is poised to steer the firm towards continued success and innovation.
