Taylor Wessing strengthens Energy Law practice
Juraj Paluš joins Taylor Wessing, boosting the firm's energy law capabilities with extensive experience from major Slovak energy companies
Taylor Wessing, one of Slovakia's top three international law firms, has welcomed a new addition to strengthen its expertise in energy law. Juraj Paluš, who brings over 12 years of experience in various legal and managerial roles within leading energy companies in Slovakia, joined the firm on February 1, 2023.
Known for its significant role in the legal services market for energy and waste management, Taylor Wessing has been involved in major transactions, including advising Luxembourg-based Cube Infrastructure Managers in the acquisition of a group of over 25 companies in the thermal energy sector in 2022 and 2023. The firm also provided counsel to the Austrian group Brantner in establishing a joint venture with the Slovak Gas Company for the development and operation of four energy and biological waste valorisation centres in the same year.
Juraj Paluš comes to Taylor Wessing from Slovenské elektrárne, where he served as the Director of Internal Oversight and represented the Slovak Republic as a minority shareholder deputy since 2021. Previously, he held roles at Bratislavska vodarenska spolocnost and Slovak Gas Industry, where he managed gas and electricity sales support.
Juraj Frindrich, partner at Taylor Wessing and head of the corporate law and mergers and acquisitions department, expressed enthusiasm about Paluš joining the team. Frindrich highlighted the evolving legal services market, emphasising the shift from general legal advice to specialised expertise.
