Downs Solicitors LLP has been awarded the Community Impact Award for its contributions to Surrey’s community
Downs Solicitors LLP, a prominent law firm based in Surrey, recently celebrated a significant achievement by winning the esteemed Community Impact Award at the Surrey Law Society Awards. The awards ceremony, held at G Live in Guildford on 16th October, gathered over 300 legal professionals to honour excellence in the sector. This recognition highlights the firm's deep commitment to making a positive difference in the community through various channels, including pro bono legal work, long-term charity partnerships, and initiatives aimed at supporting outreach and education within the legal profession.
With offices located in Dorking, Cobham, Godalming, and Reigate, Downs Solicitors has built a strong reputation for providing both legal advice and support to individuals and businesses across Surrey. Their commitment to the community is evident in their work, including a decade-long partnership with Dorking RFC and the establishment of a community space at the historic walled garden. Each initiative is a testament to the firm’s proactive approach to community involvement.
Commenting on the accolade, Joint Managing Partner Julian Harvey expressed his excitement, stating “We’re absolutely delighted with our Community Impact Award win. It’s a huge accolade for Downs and a real marker of our dedication to the support we are proud to provide for the Surrey community.” His partner, Amber O’Connor, echoed this sentiment, saying “Contributing to communities is the thread that runs through our firm and we see many staff members doing what they can to give something back. A big thank you goes to the organisers for such a brilliant evening, and we look forward to seeing you again next year.”
This award reinforces how integral community engagement is to Downs Solicitors’ ethos, making their victory a well-deserved acknowledgment of the firm’s values and efforts
