Stone King expands its Manchester office

National law firm Stone King has expanded its presence in Manchester significantly, nearly tripling its office size to cater to a growing team that has increased from three to 24 members since 2023
The new office, spanning almost 1,500 sq ft, is situated in the Koba building at 100 Barbirolli Square, an eco-friendly space rated excellent by BREEAM for sustainability. In 2024, this location became the first in the world to gain the WELL Coworking Rating, which evaluates flexible workspaces based on air quality, water quality, and overall wellbeing facilities. Jamie Otter, partner and head of the Manchester office at Stone King, expresses excitement about the firm’s journey "When we launched in Manchester, we believed there was a real opportunity to build something special and, three years later, what we’ve achieved has exceeded our expectations." He notes the new office supports the firm's confidence in the city and its future ambitions. People director Sam Cook highlights the importance of office environments in employee wellbeing and mentions, "We recognise that office environments play a significant role in employee wellbeing and, as such, have established a new set of minimum standards for Stone King’s offices." The firm wants its workplaces to mirror its values as a responsible employer, with the Koba building standing out in terms of sustainability and employee support features. This move follows notable hires including Laura McHugh, an employment partner from Forbes Solicitors, and suggests further expansions may occur as the firm reviews its other locations across the UK.
