Having previously been with Steptoe International (UK) LLP, Andrew brings valuable expertise in commercial real estate transactions, covering acquisition and disposal of investment properties, development projects, and landlord and tenant estate management. His arrival marks the third partner to join the team from Steptoe, following Jasvinder Sahotay and Simon Collis, indicating a robust investment in the firm’s real estate capabilities.
Andrew has a diverse client portfolio, ranging from developers, investors, and institutional landlords to large-scale tenants, family offices, and charities. He is set to work closely with Shoosmiths’ specialist teams in related fields such as construction, planning, banking, and corporate to ensure optimal outcomes for their clients. His background in data centres and technology-related real estate acquisitions aligns well with Shoosmiths’ recent sector investments, further reinforcing the firm’s commitment to this growing market.
Joe Mazzucca, Head of Shoosmiths’ Real Estate Division, remarked on the significance of this hire, stating that “Andrew is an excellent addition to our London real estate team. He brings a strong track record on high-value transactions, a high-quality client base and a proactive, relationship-focused approach to business development.” This addition is expected to enhance the firm's ability to navigate complex transactions and strengthen its market position.

As a part of its ongoing growth strategy, Shoosmiths has seen significant momentum in its Real Estate division with several recent partner appointments beyond Andrew Miles, including Sarah Fitzpatrick in planning and Peter Stockill in construction. This ongoing expansion reflects the firm’s focus on complex and high-value matters, with plans for additional partner hires in the Real Estate team anticipated in the near future.
Shoosmiths’ strong growth trajectory in London has resulted in the addition of 16 partners since April 2025, reinforcing its capabilities across Corporate, Litigation, and Real Estate practices. These strategic appointments highlight the firm’s commitment to strengthening its position in key sectors, ensuring continued success in meeting client needs.
