Shakespeare Martineau enhances its disputes team

Shakespeare Martineau has appointed Aaron Sanders and Kate Saunders to boost its trust and estates disputes team in a strategic move aimed at strengthening their expertise in the sector
Aaron, based in London, has extensive experience in contentious trusts and private wealth disputes, including three years of advising high-net-worth clients in Guernsey. He has worked at Walkers as a senior associate in the private capital and trusts team and has a strong background in trust dispute resolution, including breach of trust, fiduciary duty claims, and multi-jurisdictional disputes. His advocacy extends to the Royal Court of Guernsey, and he is a full member of STEP and ACTAPS. Aaron noted “I was attracted to Shakespeare Martineau by the firm’s commitment to sustainable growth and its investment in people.” He aims to provide tailored advice that considers the unique circumstances of each client.
Kate, who has over ten years of experience in contentious probate, joins from Flint Bishop following its acquisition of Lupton Fawcett. Her expertise includes inheritance act claims, executor and beneficiary disputes, trust disputes, and contested Court of Protection matters. Residing in Sheffield, Kate is also a full member of ACTAPS and is engaged with several networks in contentious probate. She stated “Shakespeare Martineau has a strong reputation in the contentious probate market, and the depth of knowledge and experience within the trust and estates disputes team was a real draw for me.” She expresses her enthusiasm for growing the Sheffield team while maintaining strong client relationships.
Andrew Wilkinson, partner and head of trusts and estates disputes at Shakespeare Martineau, commented on the new appointments saying “Aaron and Kate bring complementary expertise and significant specialist experience to our growing trust and estates disputes team.” Their addition is expected to enhance the firm's capabilities in both London and Sheffield, reflecting Shakespeare Martineau's ambition to expand its offerings nationally in the trust and estates sector.
