Russell-Cooke strengthens international client team

Russell-Cooke has appointed Matthew Radcliffe as a partner to enhance its private client capabilities in London
Russell-Cooke has announced the appointment of Matthew Radcliffe as a partner in its Bedford Row-based private client team. A recognised expert in complex cross-border tax and estate planning, he advises internationally mobile families, trustees, and family offices on UK and international tax, succession, and structuring issues. With a keen focus on US–UK estate and tax planning, Matthew is adept at guiding clients through the intricate interactions between the two systems, particularly concerning residence and domicile rules. He also navigates the US–UK estate tax treaty and the treatment of foreign entities, including trusts, foundations, and family holding structures. His extensive experience covers pre-immigration and pre-emigration planning, cross-border wealth structuring, and the UK tax implications of US entities, such as LLCs and revocable trusts.
Before joining Russell-Cooke, Matthew worked in private client teams at two major City firms and held an in-house role at one of the Big Four accounting firms. Matthew Radcliffe commented “I’m delighted to be joining Russell-Cooke. The firm’s private client practice has an exceptional reputation for sophisticated, cross border work, which aligns closely with my focus on guiding internationally mobile families through complex planning decisions. I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to help clients navigate multi jurisdictional tax and succession issues with clarity and confidence.”
James Cook, a partner at the firm, stated “We are excited to welcome Matthew to the partnership. Cross border expertise continues to be a strategic growth area for the firm, and Matthew’s depth of experience significantly enhances our capability in this space. His appointment strengthens our offering to clients whose affairs span multiple jurisdictions and reflects our continued investment in high calibre international private client work.” With Matthew's arrival, the number of partners in the private client practice increases to seven, solidifying Russell-Cooke's commitment to bolstering its services in this critical area.
