Reeds Solicitors expands services with Newcastle office

Reeds Solicitors LLP has opened a new office in Newcastle, enhancing its Mental Health Law services to the North East

Award-winning law firm Reeds Solicitors LLP has launched its latest office in Newcastle, broadening its Mental Health Law services to cater to the local communities in the North East. The office will be spearheaded by associate solicitor Zac Sussex, with solicitor Melissa Ida Petty taking on a pivotal role. Petty, a Law Society Mental Health Panel Member, comes to Reeds from Appletons Solicitors, where she provided expert representation in Mental Health Law cases at the First-Tier Tribunal.

Reeds’ Mental Health Law team is committed to delivering expert advice and representation for clients throughout England and Wales. Their expertise spans a diverse array of services including mental health tribunals, hospital managers’ hearings, Section 117 aftercare, and Care Programme Approach (CPA) meetings. In addition to Mental Health Law, the Newcastle office will also offer services in Criminal Defence, Family Law, Prison Law, and Court of Protection matters. This expansion in the North East follows the recent establishment of the firm’s new immigration department.

Partner and Head of Mental Health Law Sarah Griffiths-Jones remarked that “The opening of our Newcastle branch is a fantastic milestone and clear evidence of our continued growth and development as a department.” She highlighted the collective effort that made this expansion possible, saying, “This achievement reflects not only the strength of our business, but also the dedication, commitment and hard work of everyone involved.” Griffiths-Jones also welcomed Melissa to the team and acknowledged Zac Sussex’s instrumental role in this venture.

Jan Matthews, managing partner at Reeds Solicitors, expressed excitement about the opening, stating “We are excited to have opened an office in the North East and that Reeds Solicitors continues its growth journey.” She underscored the firm’s commitment to serving the community by observing, “We look forward to supporting the community in Newcastle and its surrounds with all of their legal needs.” Matthews also extended her best wishes to Zac, Melissa, and the broader team in their new venture.

The new office is conveniently situated at Wansbeck Workspace, Rotary Parkway, Ashington, Northumberland, NE63 8QZ, which enhances access to their comprehensive legal services in the region.
