Harrogate's Raworths team secures a prestigious award for exceptional private client legal services this year
The Yorkshire Legal Awards, held on 8th October at Leeds’s New Dock Hall, celebrated the region's legal talent, with Harrogate-based Raworths’ Trusts, Wills and Estates (TWE) team achieving the esteemed title of ‘Private Client Team of the Year’. The awards are judged by a noted independent panel, which highlighted Raworths’ dedication in a particularly competitive field by stating, “In an outstanding field that made the decision particularly challenging, Raworths demonstrated the expertise and dedication required to support clients through deeply personal and complex matters.”
This prestigious accolade is a testament to the 24-strong TWE team, one of the largest private client teams in Yorkshire, who have also recently secured top tier rankings in both the Legal 500 and the Chambers High Net Worth Guide 2026 for a remarkable tenth consecutive year. The Yorkshire Legal Awards, now in its 27th year, brings together legal professionals from across the region to honour the achievements of law firms, in-house teams, and individual practitioners, further solidifying Raworths’ reputation as a leading law firm in the North of England.
Rachel Tunnicliffe, Senior Partner and Head of Private Client Services at Raworths, expressed her pride in the team's achievement, saying, “We’re incredibly proud to see our Private Client team recognised at the Yorkshire Legal Awards. This reflects the expertise, commitment and collaborative spirit of our whole team, and the exceptional service they provide to businesses, families and individuals across the region and beyond.”
Raworths’ achievements at the awards have not been limited to Team of the Year. The firm was also nominated for ‘Law Firm of the Year (medium)’, and Managing Partner Simon Morris received a nomination for ‘Managing Partner of the Year’, marking 25 years with the firm. Additionally, Tunnicliffe was shortlisted for ‘Yorkshire Lawyer of the Year’.
Luke Corcoran, Chair of the judging panel, remarked on the significance of the event, stating, “The Yorkshire Legal Awards showcase the very best of our profession: talent, dedication, judgement and service right across this remarkable region.” As the head judge, he noted that the exemplary submissions serve as a reminder of the outstanding legal expertise and community spirit present in Yorkshire.
This year marks an important milestone for Raworths, which has expanded its team to 70 members, welcomed new partners, and grown its commercial and private client portfolios both regionally and nationally. The firm has also deepened its commitment to Harrogate’s cultural and civic community. As the headline sponsor of the Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival since 2012, it further broadened its artistic engagement by becoming the title sponsor for ‘Salon North’, a series that unites diverse speakers from various fields, including the arts, sciences, and psychology
