Rape cases before the Crown Court double since the was launched Rape Review

The Ministry of Justice published a report on 3 April assessing the impact of pre-recording evidence by rape victims, which finds that victims who use the measure are more likely to have an improved experience of the court process. The ability to pre-record evidence was made an option in all Crown Courts in England and Wales from September 2022. According to the latest statistics from the government, the number of rape cases reaching the Crown Court has doubled since the Rape Review was commissioned. The Rape Review was then published in June 2021.
