Osborne Clarke enhances team with Eaton

Osborne Clarke has welcomed Andrew Eaton as a UK partner in its growing Restructuring & Insolvency team
International legal practice Osborne Clarke has announced the appointment of Andrew Eaton as a UK partner in its Restructuring & Insolvency team. Eaton, who previously served as Head of Restructuring & Insolvency and Banking & Finance at Burges Salmon, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His career also includes a partnership at Travers Smith in London. As an Insol Fellow, Eaton advises national and international corporates, including financial institutions, on complex and high-value cross-border non-contentious restructurings and formal insolvencies.
Eaton's recent client matters highlight his expertise and involvement in significant events within the restructuring landscape. These include advising the Wasps rugby club during its administration, assisting Rebel Energy, managing the Baker + Baristas CVA, and overseeing the sale of Côte Restaurants to Partners Group. This background aligns well with Osborne Clarke's track record of handling high-profile assignments such as NRS Healthcare, Viola Money, and Wirecard.
Will Gunston, Partner and Head of Restructuring & Insolvency at Osborne Clarke, emphasised the value Eaton brings, stating, “Our clients rely on us for advice on fiduciary duties, complex insolvency processes, and restructuring strategies. Andy is recognised as one of the leading practitioners in the market and it is a pleasure to welcome him to the firm. His arrival will strengthen our advisory capabilities as well as the leadership within our growing team.”
In response, Eaton expressed his enthusiasm for joining the firm, saying, “Osborne Clarke’s strong relationships across the financial and restructuring community mean it is trusted by clients to help protect and create value. The team benefits from deep sector expertise and an international platform, helping it to navigate complexity and deliver results. I’m looking forward to working alongside the other partners in expanding the UK practice and contributing to the various international and cross-border opportunities that Osborne Clarke is engaged in.”
Over recent years, Osborne Clarke’s Restructuring & Insolvency team has significantly expanded, including the recent hire of Nick Axup, who leads the contentious insolvency practice. The team now includes five partners and operates collegially to serve a diverse range of sectors such as Financial Services, Retail & Consumer, Energy & Energy Transition, The Built Environment, and Technology, Media & Communications. With Eaton's appointment, the firm is poised to enhance its capabilities and deliver even greater value to its clients as it continues to navigate the evolving market landscape.
