Minster Law acquires ARAG Law's business

Minster Law has strengthened its position in personal injury services by acquiring the legal business of ARAG Law
In a significant development for the personal injury legal sector, Minster Law has acquired the personal injury business of ARAG Law. This strategic acquisition not only enhances Minster Law’s reputation as a trusted provider of insurer-led personal injury legal services, but it also strengthens its operational capabilities across the UK. The transaction involves the transfer of ARAG Law’s personal injury legal team along with its active caseload, ensuring a seamless transition for both clients and insurer partners.
As part of the deal, Minster Law will establish a new office in the heart of Bristol. This move signifies an ongoing commitment to expand its regional office footprint, especially following the recent opening of its London office earlier this year. The acquisition supports Minster's strategy of enhancing its national presence, which aims to improve service delivery to clients, attract top personal injury talent, and strengthen relationships with insurance partners.
Shirley Woolham, Chief Executive Officer of Minster Law, said “This acquisition is another deliberate step in our long-term growth strategy and reflects our confidence in the future of specialist personal injury legal services." She further explained that the personal injury market has undergone a significant transformation, evolving into a more specialised discipline. She stated, “We have continued to invest in our people, our operating model and our technology because we believe specialist providers are best placed to deliver the outcomes that customers and insurer partners increasingly expect.”
The acquisition aligns with Minster Law’s long-term strategy of selectively acquiring high-quality personal injury businesses, as demonstrated by its previous purchase of Irwin Mitchell’s high-volume personal injury business in 2022. Such strategic decisions contribute to Minster's objective of adapting to an evolving marketplace while maintaining high standards and client satisfaction.
Expressing optimism about the transaction, Mike Lowe, Director of Law at ARAG Law, remarked "This is an excellent deal for both Minster and ARAG Law, furthering Minster Law’s strategic expansion into delivering specialist personal injury services.” He also reassured that the transfer of ongoing claims would be executed smoothly, stating, “Minster offers the best new home for the team,” underscoring the continuity and support that existing clients can expect.
With all members of ARAG Law’s personal injury team transferring to the new Bristol office, Minster Law looks set to leverage its scale and specialist focus to deliver enhanced services. This move ensures that all clients will receive the utmost care and attention from a firm that's dedicated solely to personal injury law, reinforcing Minster’s status as a leading entity in this competitive field.
