Legal bakers raise funds for justice

Bakers in the UK have come together to support free legal advice charities during Pro Bono Week 2026
This week, bakers across the UK are busy rolling up their sleeves to participate in the Great Legal Bake, an initiative that raises essential funds for free legal advice charities as part of UK Pro Bono Week, running from 2-6 November. This annual event not only helps provide crucial legal support for those unable to access it but also highlights the legal profession's dedication to pro bono work. Organised by the London Legal Support Trust in collaboration with the Access to Justice Foundation, the Great Legal Bake has seen over 90 organisations joining forces to bake, sell, and share a plethora of sweet and savoury treats.
As of now, the event has raised an impressive £24,000 with donations still pouring in. The funds collected will assist individuals grappling with various challenges such as homelessness, debt, immigration issues, employment concerns, domestic abuse, and barriers to accessing necessary benefits or support. "We have already raised £24,000 (and rising!) for free legal advice charities," said a spokesperson for the event, underscoring the impact of this initiative on communities in need.
While the official Great Legal Bake Week may have come to a close, there's still ample time for organisations to get involved. Those who missed the designated week can host their bake sales until the year's end by selecting a date that suits them.
