Global law firm Kennedys has appointed a leading tax disputes and investigations partner and team

Tax disputes and investigations expert, Andy Brown, has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, advising on all forms of tax related disputes, investigations, money laundering, fraud and other tax related crisis situations.

Andy’s appointment also enhances the firm’s white collar crime & investigations team, strengthening the wider commercial dispute resolution client offering. He will be joined by his former associates, Chris Young and Jennifer Southern. Chris, who was also previously at PwC Legal and DWF with Andy, and Jennifer, a barrister and former lawyer at HMRC, will be based alongside Andy in London but will work with clients across the firm’s offices globally.

Ben Aram, head of Kennedys’ corporate and commercial division, says: “Andy’s knowledge of contentious tax matters and reputation in the market is unparalleled, and he is certainly someone our clients would want on their side in a crisis situation. We are delighted to welcome him and his team.”

Andy, who was previously with Bird & Bird and PwC Legal, is looking forward to further growing his practice and team with Kennedys.

He adds: “Kennedys is a fantastic opportunity for myself and my team to further our careers with a firm that is established and well-respected, and continues to thrive and grow particularly in its corporate and commercial arm.

“Our clients are typically split across different sectors, so I am looking forward to getting to know colleagues and adding real value for clients across the different practice groups”.

Kennedys recently shared that Adam Longney had joined the corporate and commercial team, bringing more than 18 years’ experience advising international clients on asset and aviation finance.

The firm has also announced another record set of financial results, reporting revenue of £313m for 2022/23, up 11% on the previous year.
