The 18-month Legal Access Challenge run by the SRA and Nesta Challenges showed big potential for legal tech to aid access to justice, an SRA report showed. All but one of the eight finalists competing for a piece of the £500,000 prize fund saw the challenge accelerate their solution with five building new partnerships. But it was also revealed that the complexity of overlapping regulatory regimes created difficulties. Most public-facing innovation comes from unregulated organisations with many uncertain about the boundaries around regulated legal advice. 18 June 2020
