Knights strengthens Thames Valley position

Knights, the UK's largest regional legal business, has acquired THP Solicitors to enhance local services and expertise in the Thames Valley region
Knights has recently announced its acquisition of THP Solicitors, marking a significant step in its expansion strategy within the economically vibrant Thames Valley area. This acquisition not only adds 30 experienced legal professionals to Knights' team but also enhances its ability to serve a diverse client base, including businesses, families, and individuals throughout the region.
THP Solicitors is well-regarded for its commitment to client satisfaction and has built a strong reputation locally. The firm will now join Knights' rapidly growing Thames Valley team, which operates from a modern office in The Blade, Reading. The collaboration aims to merge THP's established local knowledge and relationships with Knights' broader resources and specialist expertise, creating a powerful legal service offering.
David Beech, CEO of Knights, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating that “THP has established an excellent reputation across the Thames Valley and we are delighted to welcome them to Knights.” He emphasized the strategic importance of the Thames Valley market, indicating that “by bringing together THP's strong local relationships and expertise with our existing Thames Valley presence and the breadth of our national platform, we will be able to support even more clients.”
The acquisition forms part of Knights' broader strategy to invest in high-quality regional firms while ensuring clients maintain access to familiar professionals. “Clients will continue to work with the people they know and trust,” Beech added. The transition to Knights is designed to enhance these existing relationships with additional support from a larger team.
Rachel Gaylor, Partner at THP Solicitors, echoed this sentiment, stating, “we are delighted to be joining Knights,” highlighting the excitement of embarking on a new growth phase with the support of an established national platform. She noted the advantages that their clients would gain, including broader access to specialist services, and mentioned the beneficial opportunities for their colleagues within the larger organisation.
The acquisition, valued at £4.0 million on a cash-free, debt-free basis, is expected to strengthen Knights' footprint in one of the UK’s key regional economies. With completion anticipated on 25 September 2026, both Knights and THP Solicitors look forward to harnessing their combined strengths to provide superior legal services in the Thames Valley.
