JURY'S OUT

By

Keith Cutler, the resident judge in Winchester and Salisbury, has been excused from jury service on a case he was presiding over. Cutler contacted the Jury Central Summoning Bureau to explain the issue but was initially told 'your appeal for refusal has been rejected but you could apply to the resident judge'. Having finally explained the conflict of interest, he was excused. 'I would have liked to have done the jury service to see what it was like and whether I would have liked the judge,' he told the BBC. 16 April 2019
