Jackson Lees Group strengthens negligence team
Jackson Lees Group enhances its clinical negligence team by appointing Paul Harrison and two paralegals
Law firm Jackson Lees Group has taken significant steps to strengthen its clinical negligence team with the recent appointment of Paul Harrison as a partner alongside the hiring of two new paralegals, Helen Innes and Sorcha McMullan. Paul joins the firm from Fletchers Solicitors, where he served as a partner and team leader, bringing over 10 years of specialised clinical negligence experience. He trained and qualified at Scott Rees & Co, which was acquired by Fletchers last year. Notably, during his time at Scott Rees & Co, he collaborated closely with Jeanette Aspinall, who now heads the clinical negligence team at Jackson Lees.
The clinical negligence department at Jackson Lees, comprising 30 skilled professionals located in Liverpool and Wirral, manages all facets of clinical negligence claims. The team has particular expertise in complex cases, including catastrophic brain and spinal injuries, severe birth injuries, and life-changing conditions such as amputations. Their range of services also covers surgical claims, GP negligence, care home claims, and maternity-related cases.
Paul expressed his enthusiasm at joining the firm, stating “I am thrilled to join Jackson Lees and to be working alongside Jeanette once again. The firm’s commitment to providing empathetic, top-tier legal support aligns perfectly with my own approach to clinical negligence, and I’m looking forward to drawing on my experience to support the team, help grow the department and achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.”
Helen joins from Hill Dickinson, while Sorcha transitions from Broudie Jackson Canter, where she played a crucial role in the major inquests and inquiries department. She worked on behalf of bereaved families at the UK Covid-19 Inquiry and contributed to the DES Justice UK campaign. Jeanette commented on the new appointments, saying “Having worked with Paul previously, I know the expertise, commitment and leadership he will bring to our department. This is an exciting appointment for the firm, and we look forward to the positive impact he will make for our clients and colleagues.”
She further added “Expanding our clinical negligence team with these three appointments demonstrates our commitment to growth and providing excellent service. We are continually investing in attracting outstanding talent to ensure we deliver the highest standard of support and representation for our clients, and recruitment at all levels is ongoing.”
In addition to clinical negligence matters, Jackson Lees provides diverse advisory services in family matters, wills and probate, conveyancing, commercial property, litigation, personal injury, and Court of Protection law. The Jackson Lees Group also comprises Broudie Jackson Canter, which focuses on civil liberties and welfare, and Farrington Law, specialising in private client services and commercial property. Founded by Brian Cullen and Joanna Kingston-Davies in 2020, the MAPD Group aims to facilitate the growth of local law firms across the UK through strategic acquisitions, emphasising its mission of making a positive difference.
