Hill Dickinson strengthens its corporate capabilities with the addition of two experienced partners from Walker Morris
Leading commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has welcomed two new partners, Mike O’Halloran and Thomas Mieszkowski, to its rapidly expanding corporate team in Leeds. Both attorneys previously worked at Walker Morris, joining existing directors Jamie Guy and Adhiraj Gupta in a move expected to enhance the firm's already prominent corporate practice. Hill Dickinson’s corporate team is noted for its significant involvement in private equity and M&A, holding the distinction of being the most active adviser to businesses listed on the London Stock Exchange. Over the past year, they have advised on nearly £2.8bn worth of mergers and acquisitions and investments.
Mike O’Halloran is a specialist in mid-market private equity and M&A, with a keen focus on cross-border transactions. He will split his time between Hill Dickinson’s offices in Leeds and London. A Cambridge graduate, Mike began his career at Linklaters and gained experience through secondments to Hong Kong and commodities giant Glencore in Switzerland, as well as working with Latham & Watkins in Singapore and London.
Thomas Mieszkowski brings expertise in private equity and M&A to the firm, particularly in sponsor-backed transactions. He advises a mixture of domestic and international private equity funds, family offices, and management teams throughout the investment lifecycle, with experience across various sectors such as technology, logistics, and healthcare. Like Mike, Thomas will divide his time between the firm’s Leeds and London locations, having previously worked at Dechert in London.
Their hiring represents the latest growth initiative from Hill Dickinson, which has seen its partnership expand to over 180 lawyers. The firm has successfully added more than 10 partners and consultants across the UK and internationally since the start of 2026, focusing on its expanding business services grouping that encompasses corporate law, employment, litigation, and more.
The firm’s recent appointments come after a record year, during which it also secured the naming rights to Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium. Fiona Parry, head of the business services group, believes that "Mike and Thomas are both outstanding additions to our corporate team and further strengthen one of the most active and ambitious practices in the UK." She stressed the firm’s commitment to attracting high-calibre lawyers who seek an agile platform that can support their professional aspirations while enabling access to exciting market opportunities.
Michael Corcoran, head of corporate at Hill Dickinson, added, "Mike and Thomas’ arrival further enhances our national corporate practice, which continues to advise on some of the most significant transactions in the UK mid-market, and support our international clients." He emphasised the firm’s ambition to maintain growth and deliver exceptional corporate advice across its extensive client base, reinforcing the strength of their national practice.
